We look forward to welcoming you at the official conference installation 'Characters At War!' on Thursday the 28th.
Meet'n'greet at eye-level with 100+ life size stand-ups of the international character elite, assembled together in a huge, walkthrough battlefield.
After that, you're invited on a tour of accompanying design exhibitions and partner events taking place throughout the city centre, followed by a cosy little 'hello my name is...' get-together.

The official conference will start early on Friday the 29th and will end with a big party on Saturday night. These two days will be jam packed with 20 lectures, presentations and performances by international artists such as Gary Baseman, Francois Chalet, Doma Collective, Friends With You, Furi Furi, Genevieve Gaukler, Derrick Hodgson, James Marshall, Miss Van, Christian Montenegro, The London Police and more...

Additionally, now that we've secured Berlin's most outstanding movie theatre as one of our conference locations, we'll be screening (and premiering) stylish animations by Studio aka, Shynola, PSYOP, Pete Fowler, Dahara, Freaklub, Trunk, etc.

In the early evenings - before the parties, live performances and VJ battles fight for your attention - we will get down to some serious talking with the speakers in open panel discussions. These moderated panels will focus on all the essential issues concerning character visuals, as well as the possibilities (and limits) of their usage.

But above all, the pictoplasma conference is about getting artists and designers away from their computer screens to meet in the flesh, for a glorious, character-inspired weekend.
