Straight after a delightful 3rd edition of the Pictoplasma Academy and finally completing our "last" office move into a recently refurbished former crematorium, we're more than ready to snap back into action and announce the:

12th
PICTOPLASMA CONFERENCE & FESTIVAL
BERLIN, 4 - 8 MAY 2016

Our last office

Coming May the leading and largest international Conference and Festival of Contemporary Character Design and Art takes over Berlin with an all new, 5 day program of more than 20 awe-inducing artist presentations, 100+ animations illuminating the big screen, accompanying group-shows and exhibitions, hands-on workshops, endless play, parties, inspiration, networking and - as come to expect - an abundance of character attitude!

Meanwhile in its 12th edition, this is the annual event character connoisseurs can't afford to miss: your unique chance to get inspired by, learn from, befriend and rub shoulders with the Who is Who of today's visual creation.

Guillaume Kashima

First confirmed speakers include Becky and Joe (UK), in control of the "Don't Hug Me I'm Scared" animation series - possibly the most bewildering WTF 2.0 internet phenomena of our times; Guillaume Kashima (FR), illustrator and graphic designer known for creating maximal attraction with minimal means and an unique sense of boldness, wit and humour; Jim Avignon (DE), painter, conceptual artist, one-man band, and probably the most unusual figure in the contemporary German art scene; Miss Lotion (DK), illustration queen of sassy women with role model qualities, self confidence and modest lady bumps protruding proudly; Jan de Coster (BE), creature creator playfully mixing science and character appeal while exploring the outer boundaries of human-robot relations; Mr Bingo (UK), illustrator, rapper and kickstart wonder gone Tourette, internationally famed for his lovingly hand-drawn - yet offensive - "Hate Mail" postcard series;

and many, many more to be revealed soon...

Don't Hug Me I'm Scared

Besides the back-to-back artist presentations and workshop sessions, the official Animation Festival programs are always a welcome opportunity to recharge yourself on an insane overdose of mind-bending eye candy - so once again we re-new our open Call For Animation Entries and invite you to submit your latest generations of characters in motion for the big screen. All information on how, what, and until when can be found > HERE!

While the Conference's puzzle pieces continue to snap into place during the coming weeks at conference.pictoplasma.com, you might want to keep an eye on our upcoming "Early-Bird-Full-5-Day-Festival-and-Conference-Offer".

Registration goes online in exactly 3 days, starting this coming Monday, the 26st of October 2015 at noon (CET), with a tempting Early Bird offer limited to the first happy 100 attendees!
First come, first served...

Enough time to set your alarm, mark your calendar and prepare for the countdown!

Empathic greetings from the crypt,

peter and lars
