On the road again...

OMG, we'll actually have to leave our office!

The Pictoplasma Berlin Festival is going on tour with a dense, inspiring evening program of select screenings, live artist lectures and colorful presentations. This is your chance to catch up on today's most influential character artists and designers, without having to leave the comfort of your home town!
Kicking off with events in Germany, from Hamburg, Munich to Dusseldorf, Pictoplasma will fly by the Frankfurt Book Fair, touch down in Dundee (Scotland), contribute to the onedotzero festival in London (UK), make an appearance in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and head on to New York (USA). More tour stops are to be confirmed, so make sure to check http://tour.pictoplasma.com regularly, as our growing carbon footprint gradually finds its way to your neighborhood.

First stop:

2. October 2010
18:00 - 00:00

Jarrestrasse 20
22303 Hamburg
Join us for a compact celebration of all things character! Confirmed speakers: Japanese drawaholic Akinori Oishi, Rilla and Steve Alexander from the australian art collective Rinzen and Siggi Eggertsson, Island's master of reduced and abstract design! Plus updated Characters in Motion screening and a humble introduction by the two of us personally.
Head on over to the venue's site to secure your ticket or simply visit:

Next thing we're off to the monstrously oversized Frankfurt Book Fair, where we'll uncover our brand new line-up of upcoming publications (6. - 9. October). Come and say hello while Akinori Oishi graces the little booth behind us (Hall 4.1 - M531) with his trademark character overload in a live drawing performance. Only a few days later we head on to Bavaria for the Pictoplasma Tour Munich edition:

NRW-Forum Kultur und Wirtschaft

Ehrenhof 2

The Tour finale of 2010 brings us safely back to Germany, to the wonderful Ehrenhof in Dusseldorf.
Here, thanks to the support of the NRW Forum, we invite you to a special character treatment, featuring a smashing bouquet of screenings and thrilling artist lectures, including Rilla and Steve Alexander from Rinzen (AUS), Fons Schiedon (NL) and Roman Klonek (DE), allowing some insight into his wonderful balancing act between propaganda, folklore and pop.

OK, now you're in on our secret escape-the-office plan. We believe it will also shorten the wait for the next big Pictoplasma Berlin Festival, coming up in April 2011 and truly hope you'll be able to join us back-stage somewhere along the way.

Yours truly,

Peter and Lars
