MARCH, 2011
line

At this point there's no holding back, the Pictoplasma Berlin Festival 2011 is about to swing open it's gates in less than a week. And as every year, by now, the Conference with artist presentations, lectures and workshops itself is long sold out.

HOWEVER: Should you find yourself in Berlin between the 6th and the 10th of April lacking a Full Festival & Conference pass, don't despear: there will be a multitude of great things going on!
All 25 exhibitions, installations and group-shows of the Character Walk are open to the general public for free, the main venue Babylon offers 24/7 dive-by Characters in Motion on the big screen and we're spicing up Berlin's nightlife with several character-driven reasons to party...

Also, all of this year's Characters in Motion Screenings will be continuously repeated between 16:00 and Midight on a second screen at the main venue, the Babylon, with individual tickets for approx. 6,- Euros.
We are also throwing in a series of Best-Ofs and a special Mini Plasma screening suitable for young Character fans with short attention spans. Plus we proudly present a long South Park night, curated by no one else than the series animation director himself: Ryan Quincy! Join us on Thursday starting at midnight: come in pajamas = free entrace!

GET INTO CHARACTER PARTIES & PERFORMANCES

And, last but not least, many parties and performances are also inviting you to join the character madness at a reasonable price, including the Festival warm-up party on Wednesday the 6th at the .HBC, and a live concert evening on Friday the 8th in cooperation with the Volksbühne presenting Jason Forrest and Caiptain Credible.

With a little luck some tickets might still be available directly at the Volksbühne for this year's big grand finale on Saturday, the 9th: 'The Missing Link Show', hosted by no one else than this year's mysterious tribe of snow-white, hairy species, takes you on a mythological and musical journey, featuring VJ Motomichi Nakamura, a live solo piano concert by Maximilian Hecker and an inevitably immersive climax by Dan Deacon.
After all this retina stimulus you are more than welcome to shake off your visual overdose at the Saturday night Pictoplasma Party at the Volksbühne, from 23:00 onwards.

So shut down your computers and join us in the flesh for a hand full of glorious, character-inspired days,

peter & lars
