As the 12th Pictoplasma Conference-slash-Festival nears, we are left with 4 weeks to sort things out. Miraculously, the pieces are gradually snapping into place, and we've got a few items to check off our (and your) TO-DO list:

NEW ACADEMY SHORT COURSES CONFIRMED
(√ check)

To provide you with even more reasons to join us this May, and squeeze max character input out of your Berlin experience, the Pictoplasma Academy has scheduled two new hands-on short courses in the days prior to the upcoming Conference:

#1: DON'T BUY TOYS - MAKE THEM! (or both)

ACADEMY SHORT COURSE - RESIN TOY MOULDING

May 3+4
RESIN TOY MOULDING WITH MATT JONES / 2 days
Matt Jones aka Lunartik will take participants by the hand and guide them through all stages of model making, silicone moulding and resin casting, enabling you to produce your own art multiples and toys.

#2: MASTER THE 3RD DIMENSION!

ACADEMY SHORT COURSE - 3D ILLUSTRATION

May 3+4
3D ILLUSTRATION (BEGINNER) WITH MARK GMEHLING / 2 days
Mark Gmehling returns to help you tame the Cinema 4D software and learn the most relevant tools, teaching you how to model a complex character, apply texture, install virtual lighting and even do simple animations.

Participation in the 2-day courses is strictly limited to 10 eager skill-seekers, so act fast to secure your intense-character-enhancement-oportunity HERE >

Another huge task, finally mastered:
OFFICIAL 2016 ANIMATION PROGRAMME ANNOUNCED (√ check)

FESTIVAL ANIMATION SCREENINGS

The official Animation selection has gone online, and it feels safe to say that the big screen has rarely been illuminated by such a plethora of fine animated story-telling, cutting edge visual psychedelia and amazing eye candy.
Think Adventure Time gone plasticine, Simpsons on LSD, surprising strategies to enhance motion graphics, crayons out of control, and wide-scope outer space encounters. Now add the “bigger than life” projection and surround sound, plus: many of the international studios and filmmakers will be present for Q&A rounds after each screening!
But look for yourself!

Rhetorical question: Do you want to pitch your personal project or talent to industry leading animation producers, art buyers, illustration agencies, toy companies or publishers?

THE NEW AND IMPROVED CHARACTER FORUM (√ check)

CHARACTER SPEED PITCHING

This year's Conference offers exactly that: all registered attendees get the unique chance to present their personal projects and portfolios to hungry industry leaders in a series of one-on-one speed pitching sessions. Every ten minutes, a new round starts, seats are re-shuffled and new attendees face new established makers and shakers of their choosing.
This is a great chance to present your work, get instant feed-back, and possibly hook up afterwards for further discussion or strategic plans for world domination…
Keep a close eye on our site and make yourself familiar with the growing list of participating pros!
There are more to follow... and maybe you are responsible for the perfect character they've been longing for?

THE NEW PICTOFOLIO

After some initial testing with the help of our beloved Academy alumni, we've now entered phase two and exclusively invite all fully registered conference attendees to be amongst the very first to populate our new Character Design and Art community.

Pictofolio is our “online" extension of the “offline" encounters at our real world events, such as the Conference, Festival or Academy. We want this to enable our international attendees to pre-meet other like-minded artists, stay in touch with the friends they made, hook up regionally, inspire each other, collaborate and SHOW CHARACTER!

Call us biased, but it's hard to believe that there's another conference out there with such amazingly talented attendees.
And the best part: all of the above could involve you, if you manage to tick it off your to-do list soon enough at http://conference.pictoplasma.com/registration
