Talking about character education: why not announce that we’re bringing the Berlin Pictoplasma Academy to Latin America?

Coming October the Pictoplasma Academy opens a second temporary campus in the heart of Mexico City and invites participants for an intense 1-week character development course. Supervised by the Academy tutors and teachers Rilla Alexander, Nathan Jurevicius, Benjamin van Oost and Philip Hunt, the program challenges you to bring your character-related projects or general style to the next level and explore it right across the media spectrum – from drawing and illustration to hands-on sculpture, installation and visual storytelling.

First deadline for applications: September 1

Of course, there's also round #4 of our big Berlin Academy masterclass coming up soon - you still have 1 month to apply!

Picture this: During the 8 day summerschool, a selected group of 30-40 international participants have the unique chance to kick-start their careers as character designers and develop their own private projects in close collaboration with industry leading artists, filmmakers and producers, followed by a half year of ongoing mentorship, leading to an exclusive exhibition as central part of the following Pictoplasma Festival.

Deadline for applications: July 15

We’ll be sharing more news soon (including the long overdue comeback of the Pictoplasma NYC Conference this November), but for now take a look at what previous alumni have to say about the Academy, familiarise yourself with the curriculum and prepare for the upcoming advanced character studies!

hasta luego,

peter & lars
